My Ecco shoes disintegrated without any reason

I owe an apology and a full refund to Ecco Shoes. I bought my ecco shoes a few months ago and kept them for my cousins wedding. They were inside my cupboard along with all other shoes i have. when i went to the party after wearing them, I felt something weird while driving, my feet were moving a bit extra freely inside them. I was getting late so didnt care that much, i wish i could have seen them at that time. After reaching the marriage hall, right when the meal was open, my shoes gave away in the worst possible way. the soul literally broken into pieces and I was standing like bare feet. The top of the shoes was totally fine but there was nothing to cover my feet below. I cannot stress how embarrassed i was at that time. I had to borrow shoes from a staff (may be a waiter) to buy new shoes from nearby store and then i returned the shoes to the nice guy. What a shame, i coudnt imagine this could happen to anyone let alone me.
What a horrible experience! I cannot return them or claim anything since its been so long since i bought them, even though i didnt wear them and kept them in my cupboard.
I would say think twice before buying shoes from Ecco shoes, or at least check the soul if it is made out of something reliable instead of just some fishy chemical like my shoes.
